~Former Pets of the Week~

Tuxedo came to QHS in 2003 from the City Shelter. He was a very timid and shy guy when he first arrived. He hid in the back of his cage and didn’t want much attention from people. Today, he seems to be a completely different cat. He lives in the free roaming room where he is not kept in a cage. He Gets along well with the other cats. If you  sit down by him, he’ll most likely crawl into your lap for a good cuddle. He’s a very sweet boy and deserves a nice, quiet home.

Hannah is a 2 yr. old Terrier mix. A shy beauty with a gentle spirit, she is getting more playful and relaxed everyday. Given a chance outside of her kennel, she shows her true personality and is very endearing. She would like a yard to stretch those legs, and prefers not to be tempted by cats. Otherwise, Hannah's needs are simple, like wanting to be a companion to someone special, to love and to be loved for a lifetime.

Carmen was brought to the shelter several years ago with her litter of kittens. She was placed in a foster home where she was a great mom and able to raise her babies. Once they were old enough, all of the babies were adopted, leaving Carmen behind. She has been at the shelter ever since. She is now approximately 6 or 7 years old. She is a beautiful girl with a dilute tortishell coloring. She gets along with other cats and likes to run all over the cat room checking things out. She sometimes enjoys spending time with people, but also likes her alone time as well.

Oliver is a 5 month old Beagle/Spaniel mix. Always ready to roll, he's a very active, playful, and friendly pup. He greets each new day with enthusiasm and loves everyone he meets. When he gives you that look of endearment, you can see a future of love and loyalty from this little guy. If you can give him all the good things in life he deserves, Oliver will be the best friend you've ever had!

Harry is a very sweet and loving cat. He used to live in a home with other cats and dogs. One day, he wandered outside and his harness got caught on a car driving by. He was drug by the car several feet before he was able to get away. After he spent time at Katherine Road Animal Hospital healing, his owners were unable to keep him. He has been at the shelter since March of 2007 and is now about 6 years old. Although he has scars where fur will never grow back, he’s always in a great mood and willing to cuddle. He lives in our free roaming room where he is not confined to a cage and plays all day with other cats.. Come visit Harry to see if he’s the one to complete your family.

Ariel is a 3 yr. old Black Lab. She's a Lab lovers delight with her good nature, high energy and fun loving personality. She calms nicely, regularly sits on command, and is learning more everyday. Her desire and ability to chase and retrieve, especially her beloved tennis balls, make her an ideal playmate. Her tendencies toward loyalty and wanting to please, make her an ideal companion. Ariel will be happy in a home where she is the only dog and has you all to herself. So pick up a tennis ball and come visit this very special girl soon. She might just be the perfect match!

Kramer is a 1 yr. old Scottish Terrier mix. He's a very energetic, playful and friendly little guy. He's always moving, always thinking, very smart, and ready for any challenge. There's no doubt he'll be tops in his doggie school class. Though on the go a lot, Kramer also has the potential to be a great lap dog when it's time to unwind. Just give him the chance he needs to play, to relax, to bond, to love someone again, and you will have yourself a wonderful companion for life!
