Tours The Quincy Humane Society often hosts tours of our facility upon request. These tours are educational, and great for school field trips, daycares, girl scout troops, and other organizations. If interested in learning more about the Quincy Humane Society and our facility, please contact our special events coordinator to schedule a tour.
Summer Camp
Each year, the Quincy Humane Society hosts “Kids for Critters Summer Camp”. After registering, children from the area
come to the shelter to learn about animals. Guest speakers such as veterinarians, animal control officers and other professionals that work with animals. We sometimes go on field
trips to other organizations, such as Katherine Road Animal Hospital’s Raptor Rehabilitation Center or Julie Inghram’s horse farm. Interactions with animals is
provided on a daily basis. Children learn about the importance of spaying/neutering pets, how to properly care for animals, how to teach dogs and cats tricks using positive
reinforcement, etc.
The 2009 Summer Camp is now full. Please check back next year for information on how to get your child involved!
