The Quincy Humane Society is a member of the National Spay / Neuter Response Team. We operate a high-volume, high-quality program based on the Humane Alliance model. Our staff has received extensive training in the surgical technique and protocols used. A licensed veterinarian provides all services.

Our Spay/Neuter clinic is held at the Quincy Humane Society, 1705 North 36th Street, Quincy, IL 62305. We are unable to accept walk-ins! Appointments are required. Please call 217-223-8786 to make an appointment.

Animals need to be dropped off at 7:00 am on the date of surgery.  Animals stay overnight with us and are required to be picked up the following morning at 6:30 am. If your animal is not picked up by 6:30 AM, there is a $20/hour per animal boarding fee that will be automatically charged and must be paid upon pick-up.

If your animal is younger than 4 months, they may eat breakfast before surgery if they so desire.  Animals older than 4 months can have a very light breakfast the morning of surgery.  Please discontinue feeding after 10:00 pm the previous evening. They can have water up to the time of surgery.

Cats must arrive in carriers with each cat contained in its own carrier.  We do ask that they be in a hardcover carrier. If you do not have a carrier, you may rent one from the Quincy Humane Society. There is a $20 cash deposit required. Carriers can be picked up a few days prior to surgery during normal business hours.

Dogs should be brought in on a leash.

We accept cash, Discover, American Express, Visa, and Mastercard. Unfortunately, we do not accept checks!

Testimonials:

“I just want to thank the staff at the Quincy Humane Society for the amazing help and support I received in capturing my six feral barn cats and getting them spayed and neutered! I couldn’t have achieved this difficult goal without them! I am extremely impressed with the high standards and level of professionalism I experienced. All of our cats are doing fantastic. It is such a joy to watch the kittens playing on our porch each night and knowing that they won’t be multiplying beyond that! I have recommended  you to numerous others about the program and give the full 5 stars!” – Shannon of Iowa

“I brought my dog in a few weeks ago to get spayed, her shots and microchipped. While she was there they pulled nine of her teeth and it has made a world of difference in the way she is now. She is so happy and loving. I had no idea that her teeth were hurting her the way that they were. I thank them all so very much for all they have done!”  – Quincy, Illinois

“I just wanted to thank everyone from the Quincy Humane Society. Thanks to their low-cost clinic, I have been able to get over 10 feral cats fixed in my neighborhood. Thanks to them, they now have a chance for a better life! It has taken me a while but the last 2 kittens were officially fixed!” – Nicole of Iowa
